Magic Mike Mission: Unaccomplished

MAGIC MIKE MISSION:  UNACCOMPLISHED

With utmost sadness, my mission to see Magic Mike this weekend went unaccomplished.  :(   I guess I wasn't the only female over the age of 18, looking forward to a pud-tingling cinematic experience this weekend.  Selfish of me to think I am the only woman who has been awaiting the arrival of this flick.... Apparently every woman in the country had been looking forward to this movie.

I am very disappointed that only one theater in New Bern was showing the flick.  It was sold out in no time flat.  I hear that the movie was sold out pretty much everywhere.  This movie has got to be as epic as Titanic!  I will see it before it hits the REDBOX/BLOCKBUSTER vendors.  I may even take my mother-in-law on the 4th of July, so we can experience the visionary works of perfect, chiseled man-ness on a very large screen...  Oops!  I mean, fireworks!  GOD BLESS AMERICA... ;)

I wish I had more to blog about today... I am so very tired.

Going to snuggle with my own Magic Man for a bit and head to bed... going to go to the beach tomorrow!

XOXOXO!  Nighty night my Boosom Bloggin Buddies!

Straight Girls Got Girl Crushes Too

Heya, Boosom Bloggin Buddies!

Yes, I know I misspelled 'bosom'/'bossom'(?), but I don't really care... my blog, my grammar, my biz-naz!  That's the best thing about bloggin.  I can write, and sound like me and not give a damn bout punctuation and spellin and grammar and puttin 'g' on the endin of words.  When I talk, i don't add those letters and most people don't add them.  Maybe that's what's wrong with society these days though.  Ain't no one gettin swattin these days for bad grammar and such 'n such.  If I want or need my words to come out fluent and educated, I can do that.  But like I said "MY BLOG, MY GRAMMAR, MY BIZ-NAZ!"

Anyways, I was thinkin last night bout how Matthew McConaghey, Channing Tatum, Zac Efron, Ryan Reynolds, and Josh Duhamel really get my lady gears crankin.  My totally awesome sis made a comment that her girl crush list is longer than her guy crush list.  I started thinkin bout that and I came to the conclusion that my girl crush list is probably a lil longer than my guy crush list.  Not by much, but a lil.  I'm a straight girl... I swear it.

I have to admit that my first girl crush is Alyssa Milano.
Then
Now

Hubby says she is on his list as well.  I have liked her since back on the Who's The Boss days.  As you can see, the girl is still a looker!  I loved the way she dressed and she's always had the best hair if ya ask me.  Plus, remember when she was Corey Haim's girl?  God, I loved that guy...RIP Corey.
(OMG!  How stinkin cute were they back then?!)

Anyways...

So my other girl crush is also one I have had since as long as Alyssa Milano and that is Drew Barrymore!  Talk about a girl who has been through so much in her life and look at her now!

Then

 My fave Drew days
Now

Here's a girl that Hollywood almost gave up on.  Good damn thing they didn't!  Can you imagine The Wedding Singer, Poison Ivy, 50 First Dates, Never Been Kissed, etc... without her?!?!  I can't!  Go Drew!

I have to say another girl crush is Liv Tyler... She's just gorgeous.  I think... and just where is this girl these days????  Loved her in the Aerosmith videos with Alicia Sylverstone... ooh!  and the movies Armageddon, That Thing You Do!, Empire Records...

The last one I am gonna disclose is Khloe Kardashian.  She is my FAVE Kardashian of them all!  She's funny, opinionated, and probably the most 'real' of them all.  Not sure why Kim gets all the attention and modeling jobs and calendars, etc... Don't get me wrong... all those Kardashians are pretty, but I think Khloe is the hottest.

Okay, I got more on my list but I'm stoppin here.  Even now I am startin to question my own sexuality now!!!  Okay, not really... but I do find it weird that my girl crush list is as long as my guy crushes.

I gotta get to bed early tonight.  I been stayin up too late and I need my booty sleep.

PERFECTLY NAUGHTY SAHM

Stars of MAGIC MIKE

 CHANNING TATUM

MATTHEW McCONAGHEY

Yeah, I been kinda quiet the last few days.  I doubt I will be quiet this weekend, when I go and see MAGIC MIKE in the theater.  I think the majority of the female population is with me on this.  This movie is a woman's dream come true... I get the thrill of seeing my 2 favorite Hollywood hotties dancing half naked on screen and I won't go completely broke putting my puny savings (and maybe part of the spider monkeys savings) down their g-strings.  ;)   Ya know what I mean, am I right???  I have had the hots for Matthew McConaghey since I saw him on ED TV.  I really didn't get hot for Channing Tatum until I saw him on DEAR JOHN.  I do have to say, there are three of my guilty pleasures missing in this movie... maybe one of them is wrong of me to say, but I will say it anyways cause he's old enough now.  HAHAHAHA!

My first guilty pleasure is Josh Duhamel

My second guilty pleasure is Ryan Reynolds

(omg!  seriously... CHECK OUT THOSE ARMS!)

And my third guilty pleasure that makes me a really naughty momma is Zac Efron

Hey, I knew when I saw him on High School Musical that he was gonna grow into one helluva looker when and this momma was right (as usual!).

Some ladies have jealous hubbies and boyfriends.  Or in some cases, some guys have a jealous boyfriend.  Their significant other is laughing or snickering at some of us who drool when the Magic Mike previews come on tv.  Thankfully, my hubby is not like that.  He knows that I think he's way sexier and hotter than these guys and I think he's hoping I will come home after the movie and hornier than a horny bull.

I hope no one here gets jealous of significant other's Hollywood crushes.  Why be jealous of a Hollywood crush???  My hubby had the biggest thing for Angelina Jolie, pre-Brangelina that is.  Hey, I couldn't blame him.  I have to admit, even I had a crush on her back then.  Now his turn-ons are Jessica Beil, Scarlett Johansen and Tina Fey... That's right.  Tina Fey.  He loves when she plays Sarah Palin.

Anyways, just think before you get all pissy and hate a certain celebrity just because your significant other has a thing for them.  Chances are, and the chances are like one in a kazillion, they (myself included) would never act on anything.  For one, they would probably not get a word out of their mouth and would be totally star-struck.  Two, they really really love you and not even a romp with a hot celebrity can get them to cheat.  And three, I guess, is that usually some things are much better left a fantasy.  I know that one for a fact!

No, I have never made out or had a romp with a celebrity.  But I did have a major thing for someone back in high school and when I had that chance to find out how much of a "god" they were in my eyes in high school, I was really REALLY disappointed.  I will never, EVER disclose the name so don't even ask.  Like I said, some things are better left a fantasy.

So I think I will go for now and take a shower...  Hey!  Geth that thought out of your head!  My shower head is not removable.  Remind me to put one on my Christmas list this year.

Maybe I will do better about keeping up with my blog.  But some days there is nothing to share other than "I woke up.  I love my kids.  I yelled at my kids.  My kids drive me crazy.  Goodnight."  I know that's no different than any other typical SAHM/SAHD day.

CHEERS Boosom Blog Buddies!  XOXOXO!

My Spider Monkey #2, Corbin Matthew

Spider Monkey #2, Corbin Matthew

My Corbin... Here it's midnight and my youngest spider monkey is still bouncin off the walls!!!  I let him take a long nap earlier today (3 hours!) because he was such a lil cranky butt.  Plus, I was able to clean my kitchen and living room without him following behind me and undoing everything I do.  I love him to the moon and back, but this child wears me out!  I tell ya this much, if he was the first child, he probably would have been an only child!  LOL!  He is a very inquisitive little boy.  Very ornery.  Not the easiest child to handle at times.  He's very demanding, but such a lovey dovey!  He gives me so many hugs and kisses to make up for making his momma crazy all day long.  <3
I love the pic of him up above.  The photo is courtesy of my good friend Melissa Fleck!  That's his favorite stuffed animal and best friend, Pup-Pup.  He takes that stuffed dog just about everywhere.  He hugs and kisses Pup-Pup as much as he does his momma!  Oh, he looks so much like me, poor kid!  ;)
I am sitting here watching him jump on the couch, those wild lil curls bouncing, and singin along with the Veggie Tales.  His favorite song to sing is "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything."
I wanna fall asleep but he's wound up.  No more 3 hour naps for this lil man!!!

"OFF WITH YOUR HEAD, OLD LADY!"

 Spider Monkey #1, Connor

Oh my... Another day is about to end.  I am EXHAUSTED!  Went to Walmart to go grocery shopping with the spider monkeys today.  Why do I take them with me?  Actually, my oldest spider monkey, Connor, is manageable to shop with.  Well, on most occassions that is.  I can almost always bet that he is going to say something embarrassing or something will come out of his mouth that will blow me away.
Today he wanted to wear his lil paper crown from Burger King to go shopping in.  I was fine with that.  He walked the youngest spider monkey, Corbin, around the store on the baby leash.  (Judge me if you must, but if you saw the youngest spider monkey in a store without it, you would say that he needs one!)  Connor was a wonderful help for the most part.  I had to get on to him for jerkin Corbin's leash around at times.  He found a foam sword in the toy department and wanted to carry it around the store because he is 'The King'.  He was talkin to me and Corbin as if we are his servants.  I had to get on to him a few times for being a bit bossy.
Finally we go to checkout.  The youngest spider monkey is tired and screaming.  The screaming and crying really didn't start then... he acts like that the entire time he's in a store.  So, I hear Corbin screaming and yelling and having a fit... I am trying to put on the belt the things I am buying and keep out the stuff that got sneaked into the cart and I hear "KISS MY FEET, LADY, AND I WILL GIVE YOU 3 WISHES!"  It took me a moment to realize that was my kid's voice and I look behind me and see him swinging the foam sword at an older woman (60's maybe?).  She was laughing and before I could really reprimand him for speaking that way to a complete stranger and for sounding so rude for a king, he gets all gruffy and swings his sword at her sayin "OFF WITH YOUR HEAD, OLD LADY!".  Oh my... No he didn't just go there.  The woman didn't laugh this time, she smiled, but it was a kind of offended smile that told me my kid went too far.  Sure everyone else in hearing range got a good laugh, but I felt like dyin!  I told him to apologize and he kept askin "It's funny, momma.  I just kiddin'!  I can't really cut her head off with this big knife!"  He did apologize but I don't think he really meant it.  He was just kiddin...  We had a talk when we got to the momma bus about respecting people and not calling old people "old".  I don't think he gets it though.  He just said "Okay momma!  I said sorry.  She was smiling.  She's not mad at me.  It's just pretend, is all."

I swear, I don't think I ever embarrassed my momma in public saying stuff like that!  Of course, she may say otherwise.

My Connor is asleep for the night... he looks so cute when he sleeps!  Sometimes I think I like my kids better when they are sleepin.  LOL!   I remember when I didn't think he was ever going to talk and now he never stops!  Seriously, it's non-stop.  If he's not talkin, then he's making some sound that drives me insane.  I guess it's a boy thing...

I am a tired momma tonight!  Goodnight world... XOXO!

I LOVE YOU MORE THAN POOP!

MY OLDEST SPIDER MONKEY, CONNOR, AND MYSELF BEING COOL AS ALWAYS

Hello pals!  Hope today finds yalls doin well.  My day has been alright... took the youngest spider monkey to the dentist.  Of course he wasn't nearly as much of a handful for his daddy back there.  But if I had been back there, I can gar-un-tee it would have been the end of the world!

Anyways, I was just sitting here checking my emails and facebook stuff and my oldest spider monkey, Connor Jacob, comes to me and gives me a hug and a kiss.

Connor says to me: "Mom!  I love you more than poop!"
Me:  "Poop?  I guess that's a good thing right?"
Connor:  "Poop is funny, mom!  You are funny and poop is funny... so I love you more than poop!  Think about it mom!  One day your brain will figure it out."

He's off playing with his brother and I am sitting here literally laughing my ass off.  The stuff my 5 yr. old says always cracks me up.  I wish I could remember so much of what he says that is hilarious... maybe it's just hilarious to me cause he's my baby but seriously, the stuff that comes out of this kid's mouth always kills me!  I am still laughing and he just told me to be quiet, he can't hear his video game.

BOYS!  Ya know, when I first heard the doctor tell me I was going to have a boy, I kept thinking "BUT I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT BOYS!".  My momma said it best actually when she said "Honey, you don't know nothin bout babies..."  She was right... I really had no idea what I was in for when it came to babies.  But I just kept thinking that boys were hyper, rambunctious, wild, scare the hell out of me with frogs and lizards, fart and burp and make music with their armpits.  How would I potty train a boy?!?!  I never thought of the funny stuff that kids say later on.  My Connor says a lot of things that are funny, no matter how embarrassing they may be to me at the moment.  At times, I get mad and frustrated with things he says.  After I chill for a bit, I can't help but laugh.

Now I have 2 boys, and I can't imagine my life had I had girls.  I love little girls, don't get me wrong. I got a niece that I love as much as my own baby boys.  My boys though... no matter how crazy they make me some days, I love them with all my heart!  Actually I love them more than... POOP!
Hee hee hee...

Styles I like... but am I too fat to pull it off???

I am a big girl... I like fashion, but am scared to dress myself sometimes.  I love shopping, but I almost always shop by myself and I don't trust store associates because I feel they just want to make a sell and don't want to hurt my feelings by saying "Honey, with those arms, I wouldn't be wearing a skinny strap tank top."  I want to start dressing in something other than jean shorts/sweat shorts/yoga pants and t-shirts that have stains, tears, and bleach spots.  I always make sure my boys are dressed nicely and cute... but somewhere along the line I have given up on myself.  I get myself a haircut once a year.  My ponytails are always... lumpy.  My eyebrows tend to get neglected and I do a bad job of tweezing when waxing is so much faster and easier.  My nails and feet... I am too ashamed to go there. I have TONS of makeup and really don't know how to put it on correctly or pick the right colors.  I can't remember the last time I bought a bra that fit right and matching sexy panties.

Why is it, that when we become mommies, we forget how to take care of ourselves?  I take showers often, so I am clean.  I stay on top of shaving the pits and legs.  Maybe I don't shave all they way up the thigh like I used to... I stop about 2 inches above the knee since that's where my bermuda shorts stop at.  I don't even bother to put on at least mascara before going to Walmart.  I have even gone so far to not wear a bra if I am just driving to the Food Lion down the road to pick up milk!  ACK!  I can't believe I even said that.  And my girls need a bra on at all times... they are BIG'UNS!  I don't even know if I am a DDD, F, G cup size anymore.

Have you ever looked on the People of Walmart website just to be sure you are not on there???  I check weekly... partly because they are funny and I also check to see if anyone I know is on there.

Anyways, I know I have that "Don't like what ya see? Don't look at it then!"- attitude... but I do want to start dressing up a bit more.  I saw those outfits above on the plus section on oldnavy.com and I really like them.  I love yellows and turquois lately.  I just wonder if I wear them would people be thinking "Honey, just cause they make it in your size, doesn't mean you should wear it."  Because I have seen people dressed in things that I have to admit the thought has crossed my mind.  I don't like to be judgemental but can we really help it at times?!  I am sorry, but horizontal stripes and full on animal prints on a big girl can be a bit much.  I guess it also depends on the girl sporting the look.

Well, my spider monkeys are starting to get hyped up and bored.  And when they get bored, TROUBLE inevitably ensues.

Chicken Alfredo Lasagna Rollups

Chicken Spinach Lasagna Rollups

Preheat 350

1. Boil water and noodles to al-dente... I used a whole box because only half the box didn't break while cooking the lasagna noodles.

2. 2lbs chicken, seasoned with garlic powder, salt and pepper, cooked and chopped (i used my Pampered Chef hand chopper)
1 c. chopped fresh spinach leaves (also chopped leaves with my hand chopper)
2-3 Roma tomatoes sliced and quartered... I used my paring knife to cut the tomatoes...

Mix all three ingredients in large bowl and set aside.

3. Mix ricotta cheese, one egg, 3/4 c. shredded mozzerella cheese, a couple tablespoons of oregano, parsley, and basil... or just add a couple tablespoons of Italian seasoning. I don't really measure anything... sorry. Season to your liking I say.

Set bowl aside.

4. Pour jar of Alfredo sauce on bottom of dish you will bake the rollups in.

5. Lay out flat the lasagna noodle, spoon on the ricotta mixture, top with chicken mixture. Roll it up and set in baking dish. Repeat until you run out of noodles.

6. Cover with another jar of alfredo sauce. Top with spinach leaves and sliced roma tomatoes and bake for 30 minutes.

7. After 30 minutes, remove from oven and top with shredded mozzarella cheese and italian breadcrumbs. Bake another 10-15 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Okay, so my recipe may be kind of vague... it's how I cook. I don't really measure anything. If you have any of the chicken/spinach/tomato mixture left over you can add mayo to it and have yourself some chicken salad later! :)

this recipe i found from Weight Watchers... I just changed it. I used chicken instead of beef. i used alfredo sauce instead of spaghetti sauce, and i probably used a lil too much cheese. I added tomatoes to the chicken mixture instead of mushrooms. Italian recipes are so fun and can be changed to whatever you like.

Here you don't see the tomato because I forgot to add it to the mixture.  the tomato was a last second addition and i forgot to take a picture with the tomato added.

Before I put it in the oven, I used the remaining spinach leaves and roma tomatoes I had to garnish it before it went into the oven.  Looks kinda pretty before I put it in the oven, doesn't it?

I had added cheese and breadcrumbs after 30 minutes of baking in the oven and put it back in for another 15 minutes.  This was the overall outcome... It was really delicious!

My Phat Photography

I have always loved photography.  Last fall, my good friend Melissa and I had a girls weekend away in Charleston, South Carolina.  It is such a beautiful city!  It was my first time going and we were inspired by the architecture.  Some people look at pictures and sarcastically say "Ooohh!  Photos of trees and doors... whoop-de-do!"  Then there are others who see more than that.  I guess I am one of those who loved the colors, the textures, the history!  I just thought I would share some of what I had taken when we were there.  I had fun experimenting with the photos to see if they looked best in black and white, sepia, or just left in color.  I think historical downtown areas are perfect for taking pictures.  I would really love to go back to Charleston sometime and take more photos!  There was so much to see and so little time!  Anyways, that's that.  I hope to expand my photography into people and not just trees and doors.  LOL  I try to take photos of my kids but that's a task I am still working on... those usually turn out blurred!
